#NOTAL NECHALLENGE
FOR UKRAINE

Founded by Ruby Genesi & Tishya Mackie

Our mission began with a simple goal: to help Ukrainian children hold onto the childhood, hope, and support that every child deserves. The #NotAloneChallengeForUkraine reminds Ukrainians that they are not alone, provides free mental health tools in Ukrainian, and raises funds to directly support Ukrainian children affected by the war.

Ruby Genesi and Tishya Mackie

Meet Ruby Genesi & Tishya Mackie — the co-founders of the #NotAloneChallengeForUkraine

Message From the Founders

My name is Ruby Genesi, and I'm a high school student in New York City. I first became connected to Ukraine by tutoring Ukrainian children online, and through those conversations I formed genuine friendships with them. Listening to their experiences helped me better understand the emotional impact the war continues to have on so many young people. What stood out most was how normalized these struggles had become for them, even though no child should have to grow up that way.

Wanting to do something meaningful, I reached out to my friend Tishya Mackie, co-president of our school club HSAS for Ukraine, and together we began brainstorming ways we could help, even in a small way.

As time passes, it becomes easier for the world to look away from the war. But after hearing these stories firsthand, we knew we couldn't stay silent, especially when people our own age are carrying the weight of it every day.

That's how the #NotAloneChallengeForUkraine was created — as a reminder that Ukrainians are not alone, and that people around the world care deeply about their wellbeing. Through this project, we hope to share free mental health resources in Ukrainian, spread awareness, and raise funds to support children affected by the war.

We know we can't solve everything, but we believe small acts of compassion and solidarity matter. We hope you'll join us in showing Ukrainian children that they are seen, supported, and never alone.
